TAM Iran Khodro has been awarded a contract for the design, installation, implementation, and commissioning of the electrical and control systems of Cutting and Packaging Machine No. 3 at the Production Site for Banknotes and Coins of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Building on TAM’s successful track record in electrical, control, and instrumentation projects, the company has been entrusted with the implementation of this project as the first major scope of work with a domestic contractor, with the project scheduled to be completed in less than one year.
The scope of work includes the redesign and implementation of the machine’s control strategy, complete replacement of internal wiring and cabling, renewal of all main and auxiliary control panels, and replacement of the existing PLC, control components, and drives with state-of-the-art equipment.
The project also covers the upgrade of the machine’s temperature, speed, hydraulic, and cutting-dimension control systems, as well as the installation of monitoring systems at key points of the machine.
All engineering and implementation activities will be carried out by TAM’s Control and Instrumentation Department within the Design and Engineering Division. In addition, the project includes the implementation of fault-reporting and production-monitoring systems, development of a preventive maintenance and servicing schedule, and preparation of the required technical documentation.
The primary objective of the project is to improve the reliability, accuracy, and operating speed of the cutting and packaging process, reduce unplanned downtime, and address the obsolescence of the machine’s existing electrical and control systems.
The project is also significant as TAM Iran Khodro is the first domestic contractor selected by the Central Bank to support the modernization and development of its production-line equipment.
Subject to successful project execution and the Central Bank’s satisfaction with the results, the modernization of the second production line is expected to be entrusted to TAM as a subsequent phase.
This project represents an important milestone in TAM’s efforts to expand its presence in the control and instrumentation market and further strengthen its capabilities in the modernization of industrial production systems.
