Bardsir steel making plant officially inaugurated by Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri
TEHRAN(TAM Public Relations) _ on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the Iranian Islamic Revolution National Day, Bardsir steel making plant was officially inaugurated by  Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Iranian industry minister in the Southeastern province of Kerman.

All the processes of design, engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of this steelmaking complex are accomplished by the TAM Co. engineers and experts. The plant is envisaged to produce one million tons of steel ingots per year.

The project, conducted by Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO), has been completed after five years with a total investment of 15-trillion-rial ($357 million).       

Having come on stream, the plant has created 600 direct and over 6,500 indirect jobs in the region.                

The construction of Bardsir Steel with some $357 million marked the application of localized technology in design, installation and commissioning of a 140-ton electric arc furnace and a continuous casting machine.

Located 60 km west of Kerman, Bardsir Steel Making Plant is equipped with one of the largest cranes for carrying smelter as compared to the similar plants and 400/33 kV substation at the elevation of 2000 meters above  mean sea level and also FTP (Fume Treatment Plant) for reducing environmental pollution which has been constructed according to the latest standards in the world. The design of this plant is based on L2 automation system.
